About the Project

About the Project

The first national forum “Zoosvidomi” is a long-term platform for coordination, collaboration, and development of the animal protection movement in Ukraine.

The inaugural forum took place in June 2025 at UNIT.City, an innovation park in Kyiv. The event brought together animal rights advocates and volunteers from across the country, as well as representatives of business, government, international partners, and the arts community — all united by the goal of finding systemic solutions in the field of animal protection, discussing new initiatives, and shaping a culture of humane treatment of animals.

Key topics of the forum included:

- Development of animal adoption services
- Legal protection of animals
- Evacuation and rescue of animals during wartime
- The role of business in fostering a culture of responsibility
- The power of cultural diplomacy — how art speaks about ecocide in Ukraine

Among the speakers: human rights advocate and Head of the Center for Civil Liberties Oleksandra Matviichuk, Ukrainian film and theatre producer Oleh Kokhan, co-founder of Zagoriy Foundation and the Zachyn Center for Animal-Human Interaction Kateryna Zagoriy, animal rights activist and actor Oleksii Surovtsev, and others.

The initiative was launched by animal rights advocates Olena Machynska, co-founder of the NGO URSA, and Iryna Lozova, Head of Social Projects at Save Pets of Ukraine.
General partner — Kormotech.

Objectives

1
Media coverage — ensuring consistent media visibility of the event during the announcement and post-communication stages.
2
Audience engagement — attracting the target audience to participate in the event.
3
Business involvement — increasing the interest of Ukrainian businesses in taking part in CSR initiatives.
4
Awareness-raising — promoting a culture of responsible and humane treatment of animals among Ukrainians as a marker of a conscious and compassionate society.

Our Approach

Together with the forum’s initiators, we defined the event’s goals and core idea, developing a message box and a comprehensive media communication plan around them.

Based on the forum’s theme and target audience, we engaged a range of media partners — Ukrainian socio-political and lifestyle outlets to build awareness, strengthen impact, and enhance audience reach and trust.

For each stage of communication from announcement to post-event coverage we prepared a series of tailored materials that highlighted the event’s key partners and speakers, ensuring consistent visibility and a strong media presence for the initiative.
